Barcelona president Joan Laporta has told Robert Lewandowski he “won’t let him down”.
That’s according to Cadena SER, which are reporting Laporta has spoken directly to the Bayern Munich striker and promised if the Pole went public with his wish to join Barca that he “won’t let him down”.
After Lewandowski’s public slanging match with Bayern officials over the past fortnight, the onus is now on Laporta to make good on his word.
Barca must make at least one big sale to be clear to bid for Lewandowski. Bayern’s starting price is €40m.
It’s also emerged Bayern have made it clear that the Pole will not be allowed to leave unless a replacement is first found.
