Man City confident Phillips will force through Leeds exit

Manchester City chiefs are confident Kalvin Phillips will push to leave Leeds United this summer.

City and their bitter rivals Manchester United are understood to have expressed an interest in signing the England star this summer, but it appears Pep Guardiola’s side are edged ahead in the race for his sought-after signature.

City are willing to pay £50m for midfielder Phillips.

The Athletic says City are confident that the 26-year-old will push to join the club from Leeds this summer if the opportunity is presented to him.
