British professional boxer Daniel Dubois says he would prefer to face Anthony Joshua over Oleksandr Usyk when the WBA mandates his Super heavyweight title clash, Sunday PUNCH reports.
Following his win over Trevor Bryan, WBA secondary ruler Dubois is in line to fight for the actual championship against the winner of Joshua vs. Usyk II, possibly in 2023.
When discussing his win over Bryan in Miami, Dubois picked AJ over Usyk for the occassion.
“Oh yeah, I am ready for the winner. Line them up! I am waiting for this moment, I would prefer it to be Joshua, but whoever it is, it is the big league.
“I want to get a few more fights under my belt, with that belt, and defend it to really make my mark and leave a legacy as a champion.
“That’s the fight. This is all business, there is no disrespect to anyone, but I am coming to clean up and take out whoever is in my way.”
The rematch between Joshua and Usyk was delayed due to the Ukranian’s return to his home country after it was invaded by Russia.
The duo are now set to lock horns in Saudi Arabia after a date of August 20 was confirmed for the rematch.
